I am home!
- 8:17 AM
|
I got home last night! and already I am pretty much on schedule (i woke up at 7:45) so i should be fine for work tomorrow. If I can get over this cold.
France was awesome! I loved it, Kymmie was neato and the white stripes rocked! Oh, and my new louis vuitton Alma in black multi-color is beautiful!
I can definitely see myself going back to France.
Now that I am home, however, I am having a dilemma. Should I, or should I not buy tickets to see the white stripes again in Seattle in September?Labels: france, music, purses, travel, vacation

Tireless Engines
- 6:59 PM
|
Off the topic of France, I discovered a wonderful band, and as soon as payday hits, i'll be buying the cd. I might be biased because I used to chat with one of them when i was a kid, and he was awesome back then, I'm glad he's on the road to fame.
The Tireless Engines! (and I can say I knew one of them in the Top Raman years!)The song "when you see something" Reminds me of Radiohead, only Awesome.Labels: music

Good Music
- 8:14 PM

I have discovered some hidden songs on my mp3 player. When you put your mp3 player on random, it really does play random songs.
Like I purchased and downloaded about 5 Nick Cave CDs and never got around to listening to anything other than the Murder Ballads. ANother example, I downloaded Neko Case because Steven told me it was a must. And I listened to it once.
But no, this time i got four good songs all in a row, but I only remember three.
The first was Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. "What Can I give you?" When the tempo changes as he Wails "And the planets gravitate around you, and the stars, the stars they surround you" It makes me want to spin in a (spider and snake free) field of green grass under a blue-skied, sunny day, barefoot, And then fall into spastic white girl dancing that I have perfected. **WARNING*** Vanessa SHould not listen to this song when driving.
The second song happened to be the second artist I mentioned above. Neko Case. Maybe Sparrow. Both songs are beautiful. I'm stealing this line, and I can't remember where from, but Neko case gives me a total girl boner. "Oh sparrow it's too la-ate, your body limp beneath my feet, your dusty eyes are cold as clay, you didn't hear my warning." And for those who cannot hear the words, La-di-da-di-da-di-da.
Oh and then the third is Early Winter by Gwen stefani. Now I am not a huh-youge fan of Gwen's solo work, I miss her spa-punk (spapunk sounds like getting hit in the face) work with nodoubt. I mean, that shit is bananas. (b-a-n-a-n-a-s!) But I had it in a playlist named "someday" because I downloaded it and mean to listen to it someday, along with those Nick Cave cds and the Raconteurs (I love Jack White.) But this Early Winter came on and made me smile. and of the songs on my playlist below, this is the only one steven said he didn't agree with. I liked the sad early-70s-drive-down-the-street, looking-out-the-back-window-sadly feel to it. "and I always was, always was one for crying, I always one for tears" I prefer her music, as opposed to that weird hip/hop, throwing-lines/riffs-from-old-musicals-into-it thing she had going on for the first 3 songs of her new cd.
Anyway. I think the 4th good song was a Cranberries song. I honestly did not know that they broke up. That shit is also bananas (b-a-n-a-n-a-s!)Labels: music
